I am not a killjoy (no honest I am not) I dont mind fireworks on bonfire night or to celebrate something specific but last night was a blummin nightmare there is a pub at the back of us that had a fireworks party but they didnt start the fireworks until 9pm!?!?! now surely there is a right time for them to let off fireworks and 9pm cant be it surely after all kids go to bed early like belle we put her to bed at 8.30 thankfully she was fast asleep and didnt wake up she can sleep though anything like her mom hehe but it was soooo annoying I was speaking with one of my neighbours I saw earlier and she said that one of her local friends rang the police up as it was disturbing the peace so no wonder they stopped just short of 10pm! I have to admit they must have spent a fortune on the fireworks though they were spectacular just set off at the wrong time of night in my opinion

I do honestly think that fireworks shouldn't be sold to the public - and keep it for the professionals and organisors and get people with special licenses to do it all.
I'm definetley no pro-PC gal here, but I do feel for the poor pets that have to put up with such stress at Nov 5th.
All over now, I hope!-

I agree completely. I love fireworks but they have their time and place. I don't think they need to be restricted to Nov 5th though, they can be lovely at the end of an evening on a certain event for example but it's when you just get kids setting them off for no real reason it becomes a problem.
Two of my cats aren't too bad with them, though they will stay in where possible but the other cat is petrified of them, she ends up hiding in our bathroom, behind the door.-

thats true they should be used for important events and spectacles but like you said it is so annoying when kids use them all year round ~

I think they should be completely banned to the general public, and organised events should be restricted to the 5th November itself - after all what's the point of celebrating the 5th November on some other night!??
